Casa de Tartaruga is an impressive half a century old Goan House, located in the quiet village of Badem (Assagao).
This meticulously renovated and retrofitted to contemporary standards & comforts, while retaining its old-world charm. With high ceilings, large verandas, lots of natural lights, large open spaces, and a garden with hundreds of trees including Coconut, Jackfruit, Mango Passionfruit, etc, and a charming well with clear sweet water, this villa takes you back to earlier times.
Built on roughly half an acre on a 3 sided Plot, that borders Assagao & Anjuna on the two sides, the villa with its 4500 sq.ft. of living spaces is not visible from the main entrance. Lined with fully grown and fruit bearing coconut trees on both sides, the front garden is beautifully landscaped with a fish pond and hundreds of plants and trees which camouflage the Villa completely and provide privacy to its guests.
The House itself is built on two levels in old Goan style of Architecture, with laterite stone walls that are more than a foot thick and high ceilings. The structure was designed to keep the temperature of the house comfortable & cool even in the peak Goan summers. The extra wide wrap around verandas on the ground level and the first level add an old world character to the house.
The Villa consists of five exquisitely appointed bedrooms and 5 Bathrooms, a dining room, a living room with media centre, a lounge overlooking the front garden and a well stocked library. With hardwood furniture, carefully selected upholstery, extra soft and comfortable mattresses & linen and more, the villa is designed to make you feel as comfortable as your own home, if not more.
With a large swimming pool, a kiddie pool and a large pool deck that is completely private, you would probably spend more time partying or relaxing in your private space than the beaches.
Our full-time caretaking staff will further enhance your experience by providing complimentary breakfast every morning for the duration of your stay, and teas and coffees, etc during the day. Aunty Lata, our in-house cook will be there to assist you in the kitchen and Uncle Gaja along with Ashok will be servicing your rooms and living spaces every day, besides helping you run errands to the market, etc. for your daily needs. For additional meals, we have a cook-on-call service for a nominal fee.
Our goal is to make your stay in Goa as “Non Hotel Like” and as “Home Like” as possible!
